Brett and Eileen have been in love with music throughout their lives. Growing up, they were introduced to the music of their parents' generation, that of the 40's and 50's.

Although both  enjoyed the rock and pop music from their early years,  it was their connection to the music that their parents listened to that resonated with them, music from the "Great American Songbook", songs sung by icons like Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Rosemary Clooney, Tony Bennett, and Judy Garland, to name a few.

Like many others, Brett and Eileen spent most of their adult life working corporate jobs and raising their kids. With the kids grown and off building their own lives, Brett and Eileen found themselves with time to pursue new opportunities, namely music!!

In 2008, through pure luck, both stopped in at a piano bar in Danville, CA. It's there that many friendships were formed and with the support and encouragement from their friends, Brett and Eileen started performing in public.

The joy that public performance offered led them to a wonderful venue named Society Cabaret, located in San Francisco. More friendships were developed and Eileen started studying the art of cabaret performance; this resulted in her performing several cabaret shows throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.

As a musician, Brett has been playing guitar and drums for most of his adult life. This experience provided him with the opportunity to be part of Eileen's cabaret shows as the drummer for her 3-piece band.

Upon retirement, Brett and Eileen have been focused on performing as a duo, Brett playing guitar and Eileen providing the vocals. It's been a wonderful journey and both are now actively performing their favorite music at various venues throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and the Napa Valley.

Brett and Eileen have adopted the trade name "Simply Standards" because it reflects the music they love and perform. Although their focus is on "standards" their performance catalog also includes pop songs from the sixties and seventies. Click on the Videos menu to listen to a few of the songs from their repertoire.
